Teaching geology at the secondary college in Morocco: difficulties and remedies

The article by Chakib and Talbi entitled ‘Teaching geology at the secondary college in Morocco: difficulties and remedies’, published in the journal Advances in Geosciences (ADGEO) on 24 February 2025, has been removed on 4 November 2025 after a thorough investigation by the journal.

The article was originally submitted on 23 September 2023 to undergo peer review in a thematically focused volume of ADGEO. The volume in question sought cross disciplinary submissions from forensic geology, botany, and entomology applied in the judicial system.

The manuscript submitted by Chakib and Talbi addresses the subject of teaching geology to undergraduate students, and bears no connection to the topic of the volume it has been published in. It was therefore decided to correct the record, remove the article from the volume, and encourage the authors to resubmit in a journal focused on the manuscripts' subject. The journal would like to emphasize that any scientific value of the article is not taken into consideration for this decision, the removal is based purely on the misalignment in scope between the article and volume subjects.
